Harwood Stone House
Northampton, MA

The Harwood Stone House has an optimun surface to volume ratio, is super insulated, passive solar and is geothermally heated.

The main floor of the house is dramatized by a cathedral ceiling, shaped like an upside-down boat hull. The focal point of the living room is a fireplace made from Goshen stone laced with mica and iron. The lower level has picture windows overlooking the woods. The house has an open kitchen, loft area and bedroom studios.
