World Peace Plaza Proposal
World Trade Center
The World Peace Plaza is a proposal for the World Trade Center site. It is composed of four buildings intended to replace WTC1 through WTC6 which were all destroyed by the disastrous events of September 11, 2001.
Surrounded by these buildings at the center of the site is a plaza. The Entrance Hall is a smaller curved triangular structure that serves to provide access to both WTC1 and WTC2. Two long stairways within the building span the distance between these two structures. A suspended interior walkway overlooking the plaza bridges the memorial gallery spaces on the third floor.
The Entrance Hall also includes elevators, bathroom facilities, an information desk, bookstore, and additional exhibit space.
The Crescent Building is a long semi-circular twelve-story office and multi-purpose structure. The building features a continuous glass-enclosed pedestrian street that provides access to the various office suites, as well as to the plaza it encircles. A landscaped garden covers the entire roof.
Office space in the Crescent Building would be occupied by organizations involved in peace work and other socially responsible activities.
