Leverett Library
The design for the Leverett Town Library is a compact, octagonal structure. A standing seam metal roof sheds rainwater to a holding pond on the south side. The roof is supported by a central column symbolizing the tree of knowledge. Diagonal braces radiate from the column and support the large roof. The interior is bright and spacious, and can accommodate many plants. The circulation desk situated in the enter has visual access to the entire building, thus making it possible to be supervised by only one or two people. The interior has a barn-like quality, though it is more finished and trimmed in traditional colonial details.
