Since 1972, interns and students have spent vacations and school terms working intimately with Nacul Center staff and visiting lecturers on the design of environmentally responsible buildings and sustainable communities.

An intern or student usually comes to Nacul Center with some experience in architecture or a related field. They work one-on-one with Tullio Inglese or a staff member in an intensive learning experience that includes research, design theory, design development, drafting, construction documentation, model building, and building construction, depending on current projects. Interns work as volunteers and sometimes can earn a salary, although this should not be expected.

The only prerequisites are enthusiasm, interest, and self-discipline. Previous experience in architecture is desirable but not necessary. Credit may be arranged through the intern or student's home university.

Nacul Center accepts interns and students throughout the year. If you are interested in joining us, please download and send your completed application to the Nacul Center. We also recommend that you call us at your convenience to arrange an interview with Tullio Inglese either in person or by phone.
